Hello from one Fred to another.

There have been several threads and enquiries about rustproofing over recent years – likely some will also be in the excellent ‘Little Exsis Book’ thanks to Tom.

A year or so ago Chris used ‘Rustbusters’ at Lincoln, before his big year out trip, think Maldwyn may have used them a few years ago. Recently Barry pointed Katy to a Rustbusters in Poole…. Don’t know if they are a franchised brand.  Recently Dougie ( new member) posted that he had a great job done by South West Landrovers in Westbury, Wiltshire.

I think that these specialist centre mean that you will have to travel and the vans usually have to be left at the workshop anyway, especially if there is remedial welding to do – you can’t sleep inside for a few days anyway.

Read about a high mileage one  with rust  ( might have been blue?) from Bolton at a bargain price on ‘motorhome fun’ recently – is that yours?

Hope you find a good solution and please update us all, because it looks like some of these old Fiats need a bit of rust treatment now and your experience may help someone else, especially if it’s another recent owner.

Regards to all us lock downers- especially us many ‘older & vulnerable’

          Fred
