Oh my goodness…. so much room in our vans. <3

It looks like you have one of those amazing fans that are really hard to get hold of… we’re about to head off to France & Spain amid forecast of 40 degree heat – please let if be wrong –  we could do with a bigger fan!

Maybe one day we’ll take off for a long time in ours. Although we sometimes add up how much time we’ve spent in it over a year. I think last year it was close to 9 weeks, just with a summer holiday and lots of little weekends away (mostly at the bike racing!). Which is one of the things I like about the van, while it may be tardis like inside, it’s not so big that getting it sorted and going off for a weekend isn’t too much of a hassle!

PS Barry…. the van’s booked in for the sub frame and tow bar in July; parading at CRMC racing scheduled for August if luck goes our way, if not September at Mallory and Snetterton.

Thanks so much for your email eplies, Chris and Susan & cvclaydon. I tried emailing you back but got bounces.

Very much appreciated. We are going to book it in to get its underside done.

Hi again, sorry for not updating this thread.

We did indeed find the Fiat forum – that’s a handy resource – and eventually found our way to the part number.  The new one came from Shop 4 Parts. Here is the link to the part in case useful for anyone else:

            https://www.shop4parts.co.uk/?name=store&op=Details&ProdID=25746&sku=319473

Alistair Waxoiled the heck out of it before fitting the following day. It took about 20 minutes to fit. The old one was just rust and good luck. How it got through its previous MOT is a mystery.

Now we plan to book into Rustbusters to have the underside done. The reviews that have come via this group have been good.

Thank you as always, dear group!

Yes it is the bracket, not the module itself.  Not much of it left to take a picture of….

                Hi Chris & Susan
<p style=”text-align: left;”>How’s your year going? Hope you don’t mind me asking but we’re at the stage of needing some rust busting and I wondered how yours was, if you’d recommend Rustbusters in Spaulding and roughly how much should we be saving up to get it done?</p>
If you’d prefer to email answer, let me know.

                Hope you’re somewhere nice!

Belated hello and whoops of joy at all your travel stories!

One day, hopefully soonish, we will take off in the van for a long trip. Between now and then you’ll find us at a load of classic bike races – at some point possibly with classic race bike in tow – and a fast dash through France, Belgium, Holland, Germany and Denmark to Sweden for our regular swing dance camp experience.

It’s the best van and best forum ever!

Thank you, Barry, that’s super helpful. We know you have very high standards, so feel confident in your recommendation.

                      Hope you are well.

One about the same age as our Exsis pulled into a campsite we were staying at once. It was so funny… they sort of looked at each other like long, lost relatives!  Its owners were as curious about our van as we were about theirs!

Have you all replaces the exide battery or used other brands?

Yep, although we’ve done 5 days no problem. Only thing I can think is that the battery is losing its life (I think it’s meant to have a couple more left according to the manufacturer) or leaving a light and charger on has made a big difference. Still, we’re on a hook up at the moment 🙂

Thanks Barry. Good advice. We were wild camping from Friday to last night.

Al ran the engine for 10 mins this am and we checked the light on the control panel – back to green. And the hearing came on, which it wouldn’t last night. Seems odd.

The battery was the top one we could get.

                              Will keep you posted.

Morning all… I’m a bit late to the party but, crumbs, what a bobby dazzler of a new site. Big thanks Barry for driving it (and us!) so wonderfully. It’s really grand.

I shall look forward to coming over and posting silly and sensible things, looking (and as always, finding) answers to questions about the van, and generally sharing the love. I sat in it in the rain the other day, on the drive, just because I felt like i needed a big van hug!
