Hi All
Sorry for the delay, have sorted out some of the links, also added details of a couple of facebook groups on the Little Exsis Book page.
Chris
With the headlights and side lights I just changed the bulbs to led, kept the headlight unit. There are plenty of cheap bulbs on eBay/Amazon, but I have found you do get what you pay for. I used Philips for the headlights, did have to drill a hole in the plastic bulb cover at the back for the heat sink. It has now had 2 MOTs with the bulbs with no problems.
The daylight running light kit is just under £80, includes lights, harness relay etc. Took around an hour to fit, was fairly easy.
Hope that helps!

Hi Adrian
Our Helga is in for an MOT today, but unless somebody gets there first I will have measure tonight.

Hi Jean
Hopefully you will get Hector sorted and back up and running ready for when they let us out.
When we bought Helga, she had a rust hole which was highlighted in the mot and fortunately fixed by her previous owner.
Once we had her, we took her here : https://www.rust.co.uk
They cleaned, rust proofed and then sealed the chassis. Not cheap, but it looks fantastic, all black and sealed. They guarantee the work as long as you have a yearly check.
I am not affiliated with them at all, but they did a very good job.
All the best

Hi Jeanette
Leave it with me, will take some pics at the weekend when it is light.

Hi Jeanette
The facing bench seat is quite short around 1.4m long:
The bottom bed makes up by dropping the table, and then arrange the back cushions from the two seats. If you want there is also an infill bit so you can use the side bench as well to make a much bigger bed. We never use this as there is enough room with out for our son.
Never had a problem being inside, plenty of room on table for lego etc. We can also sit in the swivelled round front seats, so makes for enough room to watch TV etc if we need to.
We are in Ipswich, so a bit of a hike for you, but is=f you are struggling you are more than welcome to have a look.
Chris
Hi Jeanette
Welcome to the site.
AN SG would be ideal for grandchildren. Our Helga is an SG and our 8 year son loves sleeping on the made up bed, and is safe and sound when travelling with the built in forward facing seatbelts. With the seats swivelled around it makes a great area for eating.
Several of our members are happy for people to have a look at their vans, either in person or virtually via Facebook/whatsapp.
To help people, where are you situated or are willing to travel to?
All the best
Chris
Hi Tom
New book all uploaded.
Many thanks for your time and efforts.
Hi Barry, thanks for monitoring the gmail , all emails from the site should come to me at webmaster@exsisowners.com, but if people email you directly they will still come to you.
all the best

Hi Piers
Welcome to the forum (eventually!)
I also had to replace the bathroom pipe in Helga last month, split where it went through the fi al bend at the bottom.
Was a bit of a 2 person job to get it back connected to waste tank, I couldn’t get my big hands in, so Amanda had to do that bit while I pushed from the kitchen end.
I got the pipe from B&Q, about the same price.
You can buy a genuine trim cover for around £30, I got one of these for my old motorhome:
About half the price, but white. I have never seen a silver one, I assume Hymer must paint them themselves.
Hi Jean & Erwin
I swapped my 2 x 110Ah lead acid batteries, for 2 x 68ah Lifos Lithium. (www.lifos.co.uk) They weigh only 7.5kg each and take up a lot less space, compared to around 20kg for a lead acid, saving 25kg of payload.
They dropped straight in and use the same AGM setting to charge on the electoblock. They have a bluetooth connection which connects to an app on your phone giving voltage/charge/discharge and remaining capacity. We have a 12v fridge in place of the stock 3 way fridge and with solar panels on the roof, we never need to hook up in the summer, and in winter we can go for a week ‘off grid’. We have a 2kw inverter in Helga, and with the lead acid it would cut out after a heavy toaster session, but with the Lifos batteries, no problem as the voltage stays constant.
Another positive I have found, is that if you do hammer them, they can take the charge from the solar panels a lot quicker than the old lead acid batteries, and soon become full again.
They are expensive, but i bought mine from http://www.simplysplitcharge.co.uk, and got a 5% discount using code vwt4/10 borrowed from a VW forum.
The batteries are continually evolving and getting cheaper, some motorhome manufactures now fit they as standard or an option.
Hope this helps a little.

Hi Jacaldo,
Hector put a rack to carry a motorbike on his Exsis, have a look here:
We had a towbar fitted to Helga by Whatling Engineering, they have a great form to help work out weights etc, as well as fitting/selling suitable towers and motorbike carriers
