Just a word of warning for anyone thinking of buying a Hymer. We bought ours from Ikonic Campers in July 2018 and discovered immediately that the air conditioning was faulty (it was working but leaking into the cab). To cut a long story short his garage tried to repair it and he told us that if it failed again he would replace the part. Well, a few months later it failed again and now he’s telling us “Due to the age of the vehicle and the length of time you have now owned it, we cannot take responsibility for this.” This is a bit rich being as we bought it with this fault and have had to spend a lot of time driving around trying to get it fixed (when we could have been on holiday). Although we absolutely love the camper we would not recommend buying from him. We are now in the process of taking him to the small claims court. There’s a reason there’s nowhere to leave a review on his Facebook page!

Thanks for that info – that’s very disappointing.

Good luck getting this resolved. Let’s hope it doesn’t get as far as Court.   Why dealers are like this  I just don’t know – it gives them a bad reputation that is difficult to shake off.

Quite. It’s such a dishonourable way to behave. Just hoping we can spread the word to stop anyone else getting done the same way. We’ve given him every opportunity to keep it out of court but he probably thinks it’s an empty threat so he’s not bothered. In the meantime we’ve got to get the exact problem diagnosed and the cost estimated – not really how we wanted to spend our weekends! But very much looking forward to going away in the spring and summer! Thanks for your support as always : )
