Hello
Advisory on MOT to keep an eye on ABS mounting. Alistair got under the van to check it and it pretty much disintegrated.
Any ideas on where a new one could be found? Have trawled online but it isn’t coming up. The Fiat dealer Al spoke to sent a part image of the only one he could find but its not the same thing.
Feeling a bit concerned….

This is the mounting bracket, is it – not the module itself, Katy? Can you post pictures of it, please?
If it’s just the bracket, perhaps a home-made bespoke one is the way to go? I believe these modules are in a silly, very vulnerable place?

Yes it is the bracket, not the module itself. Not much of it left to take a picture of….

In that case, if a replacement bracket isn’t easily obtainable, I wouldn’t waste any more time looking. Fabricate one (or have one fabricated), fit it and move on.
Alternatively, what about gluing it in position with something like JB Weld? It won’t subsequently be easily removable, so just hope the module doesn’t pack up!
The big problems occur when electronic devices pack-up working. On the “Manuals, Spares and Links page there are companies that can repair/replace/duplicate these.
Let us know how you solve this, Katy?
Good luck.

Hi Katy & Alistair – thought that I would check out the Fiat forum for you, but found that you have already explored that avenue and have had a good lead, so I am hoping it works out for you.
At times like these we need all the leads that we can get, get lucky.

Hi again, sorry for not updating this thread.
We did indeed find the Fiat forum – that’s a handy resource – and eventually found our way to the part number. The new one came from Shop 4 Parts. Here is the link to the part in case useful for anyone else:

Alistair Waxoiled the heck out of it before fitting the following day. It took about 20 minutes to fit. The old one was just rust and good luck. How it got through its previous MOT is a mystery.
Now we plan to book into Rustbusters to have the underside done. The reviews that have come via this group have been good.
Thank you as always, dear group!
Katy
